Here's an Example post of a horse I role-play at Winds Of Change..
The days were growing cooler. And the nights cast an unfamiliar shadow. Things were changing upon these lands.. The earth was dieing. The grass no longer had its lush green color. Insted, it was fading. But all things must die. And new grows in return. But Darius was fine with it all. He knew that it was just the cycles. The land changed time and time again. And this was his favorite time of year. It was cool, and calm. And the scenery was quite beautiful as well. But he knew the dangers he and his mares would face as the snow fell. Less food supply. And harsher climates. But it was be alright. He would give his own life for those he loved. It was his duty to protect. And so life would go on.. Recently he had claimed a lovely mare. Eris. But she had left unannounced. And so he was alone again. But he was tired of it. And he was looking for a few mares to build up his herd once more. He missed them all. Somehow.. the all ended up just dissappearing. And he was sick and tired of that. He wanted something permanant. Something to stick with. But for now, he was to come to the claiming grounds, yes. He was on his way. He wanted to build up his herd again. And he wanted to take a few mares to safety before the weather worsened. He did not want them stuck here in the bitterness of the snow. Oh that would be horrible, yes. And so the brute passed many lands, and crossed many borders. The journey to claiming took many hours. Perhapse a day or two? Flints clung to the earth as he pressed onward with a two-beated motion. He barely broke a sweat. And if he did, the cold winds had hidden it. Muscles rippled beneath a sleek lining of brown. He was a sight.. And behind his format, lie something else. Darius was no all bad. Or, for the most part.. he wasn't. He was calm, and content. Wise, yes. And he had the muscle and power to back anything up. And no, he wasn't afraid. Sometimes he showed a brick wall. A barrier to his emotions. He was no afraid to show them. But he was tired of being hurt, and did not enjoy the thought of being looked at like he was nothing. He was something. And he had fought for his rights many times. He did have a playful side too. And yes.. he has feelings. He has the wants and the dreams of loving and being loved. He does care. But no one should stand in his way without reason. He is.. Darius.
The miles were behind him, and the day rolled on. The trees shook restlessly in the fall wind. The breeze tugged at his locks. Still he moved on. Nares flared, and warm breath collided with the cold. He was doing alright. He was alert and content. There was nothing bothering him. Just eagerness to see what lie ahead. He was tired.. He had not stopped much along the way. His pace slowed, and soon he was at a halt. He gazed around.. There was nothing in sight. Though he knew where he was going. Almost there? Yes. He was hungry, though. And for a long while he munched on the grasses that grew wildly beneath him. It tasted alright. Not much different that usual. It was pretty good, he would have to admit. He wasn't used to the resources around here. He was used to his home. Nolai. But he would just deal with what was supplied. He was calm. And all was well for the time being. The clouds rolled on. There were many hours of day light left. He sighed. It was so peaceful here. There was nothing that could bother him, or marr his mood. For now, atleast. But he should be getting onward.. There was much to do. And he was aware that the day would be over. Eventually.. atleast. And so he picked up his pace. He was feeling queasy. Running, after eating. But oh well. He would deal with it. The land passed him at a quick pace. He galloped steadily over the topography. Sweat was beginning to form in uncountable numbers. It was getting colder out, too. He noticed that he could see some frosty areas far across the distance. But for some reason.. he didn't care. He picked up a scent that was unamiliar. And it called to him. Ah, it was that of a mare. He could tell she was alone. For her scent was the only one that he could pick out. Nothing else aside from the lonesome earth. Her sweet scent intruiged him. He was whipped. At that very moment, he felt like there was a chain tugging on him. Pulling him to her. He felt like he needed to see her. And that's just what he did. He moved slowly and cautiously. Lingering deeper into the claiming grounds. He could see something, and then it became clearer. It was a dark as night flicka. And she was indeed, alone. His time had come. He would approach her. But how? Oh he had everything figured out. With his smooth moves, and calmness. He knew that anything could happen, and that there was always.. someone better than you. But he would try, nonetheless. He was the son of Lyrical. Yes, he missed his father. But he followed in his footsteps. And he was even beginning to form his own path for others to follow in..
He was unsure of what to say to the lass. He was unsure if she would even submit to him coming. Maybe she was waiting for someone else? He did not want to seem like a fool. Nonetheless, he didn't want to miss out on a good chance. So he decided within moments that he would approach her. And perhapse, get to know her? There was something about her that he could not get over. Maybe it was the way she looked.. or the way she stood.. or the thought of what they could be. He was not into using anyone. Definately not. He was more towards the kind who just wanted a friend to lean on.. or to protect.. or to talk to. Something like that. Of course he dreamed of having someone to care for, and love. But he would never take advantage. It just was not in his nature. It was pathetic to do to someone, in his eyes. All of the thoughts were tossed aside and he decided to just make a move, and live with whatever happened. Every action in this world will bear a consequence. He was just curious to see wether his would be good, or bad. His posture was grand. Head high atop his crested neck. Shoulders were steady and rippling with toned muscles. His whipcord was held neatly behind his hocks. There seemed not to be a single hair upon his body that was out of place. He looked stunning. His coat seemed darker than usual though. Perhapse it was just the winter hairs coming in. He moved with precision. And slowly, the formation of the ebon dove came clearer. Until she was right in front of him. He stopped. Inhaling her wonderful scent. She was a beauty. There were no flaws about her. He wanted more of her. Audits atop his head were toned fowards. Showing his curiosity and interest in her. He never shifted. He never moved. He was just there. Calm, like a gentlemen. All he gave, was a brief nod. He did not want to invade her personal space. It was rude.. Though some liked it. He didnt though, unless he had permission. And this was surely no time. He had just met her. Not even. He had just.. showed up here without warning. Though he hoped she would not shove him away. His intentions were greater that she could possibly imagine. " Why, hello there. What's a lady as lovely as you doing out here in the cold? " He was unsure if he had said the right thing. Or if he had said too little? He wanted to introduce himself. Or could that wait? He had many mixed thoughts. And right now his stomach was flipped upside down. There was so much to think about. So much he couldn't help but feel. And so much he was forced to hold back on. But he would live.. Oh yes he would. " Excuse me, for not introducing myself. I am Darius. Son of Lyrical, Leader of Nolai... And you are?" That was that. Short, sweet, and to the point. Now he was forced to wait. Hopefully, he had not come on too strong. He didn't want her to get a bad impression, either. But there was no point in worrying himself. He would find out soon enough. He couldn't help but notice the change in daylight. It would be time for the sun to rest, and the moon to watch over. And he was noticing that he was getting homesick. He missed Nolai. It was all he was known to. He would have to get back to it. With the harsh weather ahead.. he needed to be there. But he would be home soon. Yes, home. His home. And hopefully, he would not be the only one to be making a journey there. Would he steal this lovely ladies heart, like she had stolen his?
