Dusk trotted elegantly into the claiming grounds. She held her head, ears and tail high. Her posture one of royalty. She stood up on her hind legs and howled up into the coal black sky. The bright moon showing its full face a twinkling. All the tiny stars winked knowingly, forever watching. Dusk dropped back to all fours. She ruffled her thick mane and waited impatiently for a male to claim her. She didn't even feel the cold night as it wrapped around her. Her breath could be seen as it curled from her top lip. Dusk stretched and sat down, wondering if she should howl again to bring a brute around. Life had never been easy, she always was in some trouble or other, and she hated that. Dusk sighed to herself, the thought making her unhappy. She let out a mournful howl into the crisp night, she didn't stop until her lungs burst for air.
